Joelle hails from Queens, NY and received her Bachelors in both Film and African American Studies from Temple University, as well as her Master’s degree in Africana Studies from New York University. What once started out as a love for movies and storytelling, quickly transformed into a desire to service, educate, and help people craft their own stories. In her role as Director of Post-Secondary Success, she helps students navigate the full application process to college, introduces them to mentors and professional development opportunities, and finds pathways for them to connect with each other and Urban Arts as alumni ambassadors.
