Urban Arts Receives National Award
Urban Arts’ CEO Philip Courtney spoke at The NEA Foundation’s annual Salute to Excellence in Education gala in Washington, DC tonight, May 5th.
The NEA Foundation honored Urban Arts with the 2023 FNBO Award for Outstanding Service to Public Education. This service award pays tribute to those who have significantly increased understanding of public education or have otherwise dedicated themselves to serving educators and students. Past recipients of this prestigious award include the NAACP, the American Indian College Fund, Title IX advocate Billie Jean King, and Sesame Street Workshop.
Thank you, Sara Sneed, The NEA Foundation, and FNBO for this tremendous award. It is an honor to be in the company of such distinguished recipients.
“Urban Arts is making a vital contribution to a more equitable public education system by providing transformative learning experiences to underrepresented students,” said Sara A. Sneed, president and CEO of The NEA Foundation. “As the influence of technology on our society grows, the Foundation applauds Urban Arts’ efforts to meet students where they are and help them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world and economy.”
College Acceptance Time!
Join us in congratulating the Urban Arts Class of 2023! We are so proud of all of our students and wish them the best of luck as they begin college in the Fall.
Since 2017, Urban Arts students have received $16 Million in scholarships and have attended top universities around the country.
We provide private-school level college-access services and ensure our students earn the maximum in scholarships so they may define their own futures. Many of the students we serve attend schools that lack adequate college counselors. Urban Arts offers one-on-one counseling, classes dedicated to higher education access, personal mentoring, application and essay review, and recommendation assistance. The results speak for themselves!
Student Showcase: Arcade

Welcome To The Urban Arts Family!
Urban Arts is happy to announce a new partnership with Respawn Entertainment. Our students are huge fans of Apex Legends and it is so great to partner with such a big name in the industry. We look forward to welcoming their mentors and other volunteers this year.
We are also thrilled to announce a generous grant from The Glen W. Bailey Foundation. It is with the support of our partners that we are able to continue offering our programming to students. These grants also enable us to continue our national expansion, exponentially growing our impact.
