Commissioner Anne del Castillo of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment visited the School of Interactive Arts today to observe classes and speak with students enrolled in SIA’s pre-college program. MOME supports workforce and educational initiatives in film, television, theater, music, and video game design- all in an effort to bolster the development of NYC’s creative industries.

The Commissioner took the opportunity to hear from students who are a part of SIA Studio, a program modeled off of industry practices in which students collaborate together to create their own video game from conception to product release. She asked the important question of how participating in SIA taught the students something new about themselves and encouraged them all in their career journeys.
